Markus is very familiar with the restaurant kitchens of Arlberg, even though he did temporarily move to Switzerland for a time. That’s where he met Sandra, who he has shared a relationship with ever since, professionally as well as privately. Together with Tobias Schöpf, he started developing and shaping the Fuxbau’s cuisine in 2015. Working side by side, the two have shown how exciting regional cuisine can be. While keeping their feet firmly on the ground. Markus has been the Fuxbau's head chef since 2022, demonstrating a refined flair and an impeccable feel for flavours. His love of light but extravagant vegetarian food is evident in his menus, even though fish and meat continue to be the mainstays of his signature cuisine.

Matteo likewise knows the Arlberg like the back of his hand. He has close ties to this place and its people. For him, the concept of home isn’t just about where you come from, it’s to do with actually feeling at home somewhere. His careful and competent approach has been an asset to the Fuxbau since 2018. Matteo took over the restaurant’s management in winter 2021, and skilfully moves between the kitchen, restaurant and wine cellar. He is supported by Constantin Gasser, the youngest Fuxbau team member. All of this is only possible with passion and the wish to provide guests with wonderful, enjoyable experiences.

She knows what makes guests happy and is completely at ease. It’s the kind of calm that only comes from experience. And it’s this peace that Sandra also values within her family. Sandra and Markus became parents a while back, and now that her maternity leave is over, Sandra is fully available for guests at the Fuxbau again. At lunchtime and in the evenings, with a wonderful mixture of warmth and an eye for perfection.
